We changed faces a few times over the years, but we've kept our great everyday prices, and staff with the knowledge and advice to get you out in the great outdoors.

Our History
Westwood Tyre Service
What started out the back of a Tyre store back in the 1940's, became the first outdoors store in Nowra.
Mr Westwood had setup a small shop at the back of his tyre store where friends and locals with a keen interest in the outdoors would order their gear from him.
Over the next 50 years the store became more and more popular, until the decision was made to open up a store dedicated to outdoor gear - and what would become Nowra's first outdoors store.
Westwood's Great Outdoors
The store was first officially opened in 1995 under the name Westwood's Great Outdoors. Back then it operated on Haigh Ave in the Nowra CBD.
The Great Outdoors Centre Nowra
The store then moved out to it's current location in South Nowra in the year 2000 where it became known as The Great Outdoor's Centre Nowra for the next 7 years.
Outdoors & Beyond
In the mid 2000's, when The Great Outdoors came to an end, the store became Outdoors and Beyond.
During this time the store became the first in the southern hemisphere to sell Hobie kayaks.
A second store was opened out at Huskisson as a more convenient location for campers visiting Jervis Bay over the summer months.
Paddle Pedal Sail & Outdoors and Beyond Camping
To better keep up with the demand of Hobie Kayaks in the area, the store was then split into two separate businesses in the one Nowra location - Outdoors & Beyond Camping for all the camping and outdoor gear, and Paddle Pedal Sail for all the Hobie and watersports gear.
Over this time, the brand was expanded across NSW in multiple locations including Mona Vale, Caringbah, and Belmont.

Outdoors & Beyond Nowra
With the closure of Paddle Pedal Sail in 2013, the store focused on the Nowra location and kept the Outdoors & Beyond name.
Since then it's built upon the brands we know and love and added plenty of new ones over the years.
In 2015 Outdoors & Beyond became the Shoalhaven's Weber Specialist Dealer and with that, expanded into barbecues.
Even with the growing competition in Nowra (and online) over the past 10+ years we continue to sell a great range of camping, hiking, kayaking, caravanning, and beach gear, as well as proudly stocking the full Weber barbecue range.
